In this new age of cyber-learning, we are requiring more and more of our students. You, the student will be responsible for participating in the blogging assignment. If you do not have access to the internet at home, ample time will be provided at school to complete these assignments.
As a student in the New Hanover County Schools system, Murray Middle School and my class, you are expected to conduct yourselves in the virtual world as you would on school grounds. Therefore, all school rules apply, as well as the terms of the internet acceptable use policy.
Your blog posts will be moderated. This means, I will have to approve them before they are allowed to be viewed on the internet. Therefore, please make sure you follow the following protocols to insure your posting is not rejected.
Posting Protocols:
1) Read entire posting before answering the questions
2) Sign your posting according to internet safety guidlines as will be outlined below.
3) Respond to people who respond to your postings to continue the thread.
Internet Safety Guidelines for posting:
Your posting will be visible to the entire internet. You will never use your last name in your postings. Therefore at the end of each posting, you will sign using the following format:
FIRSTNAME_Core#_Date
An example of this would be:
Chris_Core1_Sept.29, 2011
How to post
After following the directions to each blog entry, you are to answer questions and reply to the postings of other students. To do this, you scroll to the bottom of the posting, and click on the COMMENTS hyperlink. This will create a pop up window. Make sure your browser allows popup windows for this blog. When you scroll to the text box at the bottom of the page, you post your reply and sign the posting.
When you have completed your reply, make sure the circle next to ANONYMOUS is filled and click on PUBLISH YOUR COMMENT. This will ensure that none of your contact information will be broadcast to the internet.
